Over the years, Denny and I have collected some very unique pieces. This is one of our favorites! Created by an artist in SD in the late 80's. I cannot find any information on her making them anymore. I actually went to her studio and learned how to create these masterpieces! It is a challenging technique, labor intensive and involves considerable skill.
Stretched and dried cowhide, adhered to a thick board. Controlled scraping and bleaching is the method to create this type of work.
This measures 13" across, roughly 1" thick. Their is a hanging loop and a crevice in the back for hanging. Dust or vacuum to clean.
This is a one time offering, as this is a One of a kind piece.
