Introducing the stunning Lampwork Glass gray Dun horse necklace, a unique and captivating piece of wearable art handcrafted in my Wyoming home studio. This necklace showcases a beautiful lampwork glass horse pendant, carefully created with meticulous attention to detail.
The pendant gracefully hangs from a 22” length of black and white mottled glass beads and coordinating black czeck beads.
The lampwork glass focal point measures 40 mm across by 50mm in height, making it a bold and eye-catching centerpiece for the necklace. Sterling silver findings, including bead caps, chain, and trigger clasp, perfectly complement the pendant. This is a substantial necklace set.
Jill Hendrix utilizes the lampwork technique to create this striking glass pendant. Starting with a rod of glass, she skillfully builds up layers of different colors, sometimes incorporating metals, and manipulates the molten glass with fine tools. Heat control is of utmost importance in this particular style of glasswork, ensuring the final piece is strong and durable. The pendant is kiln annealed in a digital kiln, further enhancing its strength and longevity.
On the back of the pendant, you will find the artists initials pressed into the glass, at the base of the tail swishing across the back
